Replace fusable link with inline fuse?

Replace fusable link with inline fuse?
Can the 18 gauge fuse link thats in the power wire witch goes to the key switch,fuel pump ect. be replaced with a in-line fuse? Or should I fine me another fuse link? If so, what amp fuse to start with without risking damage?

Fuses values that equal fusible links is a big debate that nobody can seem to agree on. If you want to try a fuse, it's going to have to be a maxi fuse(big). I would just replace the fusible link with another one.
They really give no trouble, and are a last ditch device to keep the truck from burning down when someone does something dumb and shorts the wiring out, or someone re-routes the wiring and it gets damaged, or to protect the wiring after an accident.
