i love this truck. lots of power, solid feeling, and now i'm a 4x4 addict. pulling away from mustangs at a light is an awesome feeling, luckily there's no AWD mustangs available
another thing is the bed. the '04-'08 F150's have a deeper box than anything else out there, including the F2-350's. i can put any of my tools in there, with the exception of the 25gallon compressor, and they're all below the rim of the box. yesterday i bought a new freezer and the guy helping me load it was amazed that i could close the hard tonneau with the freezer in the bed. the guy i bought my tonneau from has a 98ish chebby and he's disgusted that his box is so shallow...
long story short, great job once again Ford, thank you...i'll continue to bleed blue in this wave of offcolored nonsence!!!!!
Now should we start pulling those old posts you used to post saying you didnt think much of the 4x4.... haha
sure, sure... just this minute got that from the missus...
mileage is about 14 around town right now with intermittent 4x4 and winter driving/idling habits. thats a lot better than my 4.6 got at times. two weekends ago we went to regina and i got 21 on the highway/around regina... that was about 108km/h and 130+ passing a couple of times. i'm happy with it. can't complain about a 6000# brick on wheels getting 20+mpg...
Now all we gotta do is talk ya into a diesel... haha
no convincing needed... i'm in the market, but i'm waiting until my lease is up and this truck is paid for. by then hopefully there's a diesel available in the F150. with the current 6.4 mileages i think i'd get the v10 before the diesel if i was looking for a F2-350. seems like in order to get decent mileage you have to do a tune/DPF delete and that blows the warranty out of the water...personally i like warranty, and the v10 seems to get similar mpg to a tuned 6.4 but without the high regular maintenance costs... Marlon and i were discussing this a while ago... we both agreed that the v10 would be the way to go in our situation...
For me, I only drive 10-15min to work each morning and that isn't enough time for a diesel to warm up. The V10 has 360HP and over 400ftlbs and would do great in front of our trailer.
Sherm is right about the mileage the V10 is a little better than the 6.4l from what I'v heard(stock for both engines).
Yeah for the brand new diesels I guess the v10 may be the way to go.
Its kinda sucky the way it works if ya want a diesel.
7.3 is too old, 6.0 is a huge risk, and most 6.4's get crappy mileage.
Wonder how the scorpion will be....
speaking of supercharger and rank horsepower... capitol ford has a stage 3 roush in the showroom!!
430 horsepower and 400 torque... AND its black on black!!
