all i know is i opened the door (not locked), put the key in the ingition, went to turn it and it wouldn't budge. i then tried moving the steering wheel and turning at the same time but it still wouldn't budge. its frustating cause it gave no warning.

ok, i will try to pull some info out of you.
are you on a hill?
is the wheel cocked one way or the other?
does it go to accessory?
key feel different at all?
did you try it both ways?
is this truck a recent purchase?
was someone trying to steal it?

Single click? Fast ticking? Headlights work? Put it in neutral, does it start then?

not on a hill
pretty much center
doesn't go to accessory
key feels the same
had the truck for a year
as far as i know no one tried to steal it, nothing was missing from inside or looked unusual
it is in park and won't go out of park since the key in the lock position
headlights work

still think turning the wheel is the solution, wiggle key, foot on brake.
or just call locksmith and be done with it.

Can you turn the stearing wheel at all or is it tight/solid in one place. My truck does this every once in a while and I have to really get my weight into the steering wheel to unlock it.

LOL, I would not have the kind of patience nessasary to post and wait if this was me, I'd have taken a big wrench or a drill to it by now.
