Exclamation Tags and Plates

Hello Everyone,

As you can tell, this is a question for those that are ohio residents, or at least those that pay for ohio tags and plates.

I am currently in the military and haven't paid for ohio tags in just over 3 years. (Last tags were colorado, and time before that was flordia)

I am wondering what tags I need to get, as well as what plates for the following setup as well as any changes to the standard Ohio Drivers License -

F-250 SD XL SuperCab 4x4 V10
8.5'x18' (3' Vnose) 12000 GVWR Trailer

Any tips/suggestions as per licensing and tags?

Thanks

Matt

Hi and Welcome to the chapter, and thanks for your service.

all I did was bring in copies of my orders military id, proof of insurance and the registration for both vehicles ,and since we no longer have any smog checks you should be good to go. As to the ID , you will need two forms of ID , your current Military ID, birth certificate , insurance card, S.S. card...military DD's, old drivers license... should do it for you

IMO I would go to a location close to military base , so that they are familer with Military exceptions .

Glad to have you back.

On Edit, and weight slip for the trailer..

thanks F2504x4,

I'm guessing then for a 250 I am looking at a fee of $84.50 for both tags and plates for the truck?

What about fees for tags and plates for the trailer? (GVWR or 12000 LBS and a empty weight of 4000 LBS)

THanks

Matt

Here you go Matt, I would answer this but I have no money since the wife gets it all, i just let my wife have the privilege of taking care of this for me, she really stays on top of this kind of stuff , heck she just renewed her cars plates this month , and ahh.... her b-day is in Aug. (i only reminded her that i needed plates this month for my truck)

check out this link it should list how much Ohio's is gonna ding your wallet.

------------------->Vehicle Registration Fees <--------

I "think truck plates should be for Light Non-Commercial (up to ¾ ton capacity)$ 49.50

your trailer somewhere around $40ish

Thanks for the site. I was able to find contact with either the registrar or the administrator, and asked them my information. Hopefully they will give me a reply with the correct information i will be needing.
