i have a 68 f350 with a 360,well it needs rebuilding. i have a option on buying a 352 police interceptor or a 390.the price of the 352 dont know right now but i beleive the 390 is for $250.oo. the 390 smokes i heard. is that 352 worth the swap or should i go to the 390?
I would go with the cubic inches. All the blocks are the same. Just bore and stroke differences. The 352 will have the same stroke (3.50") as your 360, just a 4.00 bore. The 390 will have the same bore (4.05) as your 360, but a 3.78" stroke. I would measure the stroke of any engine being claimed as a 390. Why not rebuild your 360 into a 390?
well i kinda screwed up the head on the 360.in the prosses of taking the exaust manifolds off i broke one of the top tabs that hold the manifolds on.it broke off pretty far back.so between new everything for the 360 i was wondering if just starting out with a 390 would be smarter $ wise.i just need it back on the road quik so i might just weld the tab back on for now and build a 390.

thanx man i sent ya one. i was at a junk yard in Supply N.C. today man a lot of fe blocks but every darn one looked like rain has been getting to them what a shame.without measuring stroke and bore ya really don't know what your looking at.
