hey, so I looked through the articles and found nothing on removal of rear windows, The rubber and window are salvagible, any helpful hints on removing? yeah! 101 but I don't want to break it!!
If the rubber is truly reusable just work the rubber edge on the inside as you gently push the glass out. Don't get it in a twist and put too much pressure on it.
How new is the rubber.
I would highly recomend getting a new rubber and cutting the old one to get it out.
The rear window comes out toward THE INSIDE OF THE CAB. I highly recommend cutting off the retaining edge of the rubber on the outisde of the cab, then remove the window. Install it with a new rubber seal.
Trying to save the rubber will result in breaking the window (I know this from experience).
Even if you break the window its flat and costs about $40.00 around here to get one made. I would cut the rubber and replace it. When I remove rear windows I leave the old rubber on the glass to protect it untill I'm ready to reinstall.

If they are damaged I replace them and they look so nice and clear, and be sure to tell the glass shop there is to be NO LOGO on the glass. I hate joe shmos glass shop logo.

Let'm put it on there if Joe Shmo wants to donate the window job for advertising... we know that ain't gonna happen...
The rear glass is cheap and the seal is available at ALL our sponsors, and 53-56 dealers.
Keep the glass complete if you can--it is a lot of cleanup when you break them--and how would I know this?? haha!!

got it out no worries, It does have some pretty "frostey," spots, I'll see about getting it replaced
The original glass was laminate, (2 pieces of glass with a plastic sheet in the middle) This is why you have "fog" on the glass as moisture has gotten inside between the glass.
For a few extra bucks you can have a "tempered" window made that will never fog. Same material that is used in todays cars. Its the glas that breaks into a thousand pieces and really is stronger and much safer.
I have done both. Glass shops can usually do the laminate on site while you wait, the tempered has to heated in an oven I think? and I have always had to come back to get them at a later date.
