Well, I bragged too soon about being trouble free since new. Got home from a week out of town and the truck wouldn't start. 14F degrees outside and dead as a door nail. Jumped it off and after it was running for a while, I noticed the heated seats weren't working. Both lights were on but neither was warm at all.
I had noticed that it had been cranking kind of slow before I left but both batteries were shot. The dealer checked but couldn't find any open circuits and nothing drawing the batteries down.
Long story short, got 2 new Motorcraft Max batteries at cost and the dealer is replacing the seat heaters under warranty. They couldn't explain, though, why they both seat heaters went at the same time. All the fuses were fine and the seats were getting current. Any thoughts?
Got the truck back and the heaters work now. No explanation - just quit working. They replaced both batteries and seat heaters and all is good in the world.
