I want to lift my 82 F150 alittle higher but I am already at 3" of lift now in the suspension and I have a TTB front axle. Now I noticed the passenger side axle pivot bracket is welded to the frame not a bolt on. I do not want to have to tear the whole front end apart and the engine out to replace the cross member with one that has a bolt on pivot bracket. how hard could it really be to cut and grind the old bracket off and bolt on the new on that comes with the lift kit???
Has anyone done this before????
All the 4x4 shops around here just say bring it on down.
I am pretty good at welding and cutting with the gas hacksaw and would rather do the work myself.
i just want to know what I would be getting myself into and how hard could it really be to replace the bracket
im not sure what you should do, you can easily just grind it off, why not, but i would run down to your local 4x4 shop just to see what they think you ought to do, but i dont see why grinding it wouldnt work.
