In the other post where I put the picture up, you said 1/2 of the things in my picture were gone on your truck.
Your 84 should be identical to my 86.
That picture was taken by another member here, and it does have a few extras in it.
But if someone has been hacking wires, it could be a long process figuring out what the problem is.
A couple pictures would be a good place to start if you can put them in your gallery.
Passenger side behind the battery is probably a good first picture.
From what you said in the other post you have a volt meter that sits between 11 and 12 volts?
Is there also an aftermarket amp gauge?

OK, I have seen some hack jobs installing amp gauges.
For them to give a true indication of amps used versus amps generated, they have to be between the load and alternator on one side and the battery on the other.
Common place for a failure like yours.
Given how some systems are wired, I have even seen a stereo install just about kill an entire electrical system on an 87.
