Aftermarket headlighting question

In the area that i live in, wildlife are overly prone to jumping in front of a moving vehicle. In fact, last week, a friend of mine hit a cougar, and another just missed a deer. I myself managed to miss 3 deer, 5 moose, and an elk. All while at night.

So brighter lighting is a main upgrade on my truck.

My question here is, has anyone actually installed a set of aftermarket headlights (not just bulbs) and seen any improvement.
More specifically, has anyone installed a projector style headlight such as the one below?

I've been tempted to buy a set of these headlights along with an H.I.D. conversion kit, but I am a little skeptical of the results.

I know for a fact that the simple H.I.D. conversion will not get me what i am looking for. I have seen many trucks with the conversion, and all it does is makes the lights "look" bright but very unfocused. I know that a projector will actually focus the lights where I would want them to go, while giving me the desired look and intensity of light.

Can anyone help me with this? And if you have done a conversion like this, it doesn't have to be just on an F-150. It can be on anything. I just want to know how well the system can actually work, and if anyone has any suggestions.

That was my other issue. These were not the lights I was looking at buying, but just a similar style just to give an example of the lighting I was talking about. I have seen some that are not so ghastly, and look very simple and almost stock.

But i did just find a website that explained a few things to me and has decided for me to not buy an H.I.D. conversion kit. These reasoning's are...

1. DRL (daytime running lights) and the Auto on switch will cause issues with the H.I.D.'s.
"A: For vehicles with DRL that use the same bulb for both DRL and low beam you will need to deactivate your DRL. DRL operate on reduced wattage or fluctuating current levels. This will cause the HID system to flicker and burn out prematurely. Please ensure that your OEM headlight harness is providing a constant 12V to ensure that no damage will be caused to the HID system"
Not to mention that it will make your truck look like it has electrical issues.

2. The conversion kit is basically a Highbeam delete.
"A: For vehicles using a single H13, 9004, and 9007 bulb for both low and high beam , you will lose your high beam functionality."

I would like to continue using the highbeam. I do not feel like replacing my highbeam with a set of brighter foglights. And I don't feel like getting a set of lights that will blind other drivers just so I can see farther down the road. No need to make a hazard trying to avoid another one.

Oh well. The H.I.D. conversion is out of the question for me atleast. And I have heard that some of the projector headlights come with a lousy H1 bulb as a headlight. Not a fan of that.
I did recently see a full LED headlight for the 04-08 effies. Maybe I'll go with a spaceship theme. lol.

I had suggested off-road lights, then saw the rest of your post about not wanting them after I posted it. I can't delete this post. My bad.
