Sorry I don't have a pic but I'll give ya a mental image.
'94 Range, reg cab, long bed, 2wd, 2.3L, auto, AC works good. Absolutely zero rust, even under doors and under the truck. A few minor scuffs in the paint. 105K miles. New plugs and wires. It has good history, I know the 2 previous owners. Runs, drives and stops real good. Will need a muffler soon.
I got him down to $2,000.
Thoughts?
Thanks for any input!!
about right, maybe a couple of hundred more that it should be but if its clean and runs as you say and you like it go for it. Particularly if you know its history.
I bought it, paid $1,800.
It is unbelieveable how rust free it is. I crawled all over underneath it and there isn't even the beginning signs of rust on any sheet metal and the little truck drives great.
I would say you got a good deal. I had someone tell me once, i'ts worth what someone,s willing to pay!
Exactly, especially when vehicles get older it is difficult to put a book value on them regardless what it is.
I figured that it will easily pay for it self in 18 months - 2 yrs with the fuel cost difference of my PSD Excursion. Not to mention the wear & tear. So when you consider stuff like that it makes it even more difficult to put a value on it.
Bought my 94 2wd, reg cab, short box, manual in 2004. Gave $2200. 90K. Some old man had it and hauled flowers and stuff. Now the same truck with 150K around here is going for 2500-3000. Gone up in price since this summer.
I am lookin for a 2wd Splash 4.0 manual truck now, everyone wants a mint for them. Cant believe how much they have gone up.
There a few rangers down at the strip that have 302's and 351's in them, stroked. They run in the 9's and 10's and are streetable. You can stroke a 302 out to a 347 and a 351 to at least a 427. A 4.0 with a super charger and a fogger should run 11's. Explorer express sells a super charger for the 4.0 sohc, but it's about 4 grand. Super six motor sports has some go fast parts for the 4.0.
Ford isn't dumping the ranger, this plateform will stay in production through 2011. In 2012 we get a brand new ranger from the ground up. It will be 4 cylinder based, which is not a bad thing as could have a 4 cylinder diesel option. Could even have a performance version with an ecco boost 275 hp 4 banger. The new ranger is being designed in austraila and you know how those aussie's feel about performance, check out thier ford falcon.
