Howdy, I'm looking at a '94 ranger, 2wd, reg cab, stick, 4 banger, 70K miles. Does this truck have a 5 or 6 digit odometer? I'm looking for a low maintenance, low dollar DD. Is the 4 cyl a 2.3L? Any issues with these engines or this trany? I've read but don't believe that this engine as 8 spark plugs, sounds crazy, is that true?!? The body has no rust. Do the frames stay solid when the body still looks good? I haven't seen this truck in person yet and was just wondering what to look for. What kind of mileage can I expect if it is tuned properly?
Thanks for any input!!

The 4cyl is either a 2.3 or 2.5 and they tend to be very reliable motors.
Yes the do have 8 spark plugs, and there a b**ch to change!
I've seen the little 4cyl ladt well beoynd 250,000. the only thing I would ask is if the timming belt has been replaced. They have tendence to go and is hard to repalce.
Because I own a '94 Ranger.........
When you update your signature it effects all of your post. In other words, I just bought the Ranger and this thread was started before I bought it, also happens to be a '94.
Those Rangers are great little pickups. I have newer 2007 that I got last summer. Love it. It has the 2.3 4yl 2wd. It gets 25 MPG most off the time..Seems like these Rangers run forever an a day. I see quite a few eighties Rangers running around. Many with over 200,000. These are tough little trucks that last forever. Congrats on your truck.
