You can look in my 2nd gallery. I think the 03 and up CV clip is to wide for a 53-66. Not sure you would have a fun easy time finding wheels with a good offset. I am using a 87 CV clip on my 55'. I am very pleased with it after 5 years on the old. Success in whatever you do.

well it may not float your boat but how about the twin i beam from a 68- 72 ford ????? hunt family i think is his user name has i beleive a 53 with it , i even breifly considered doing it to my 53 for the upated things but nope mine's in way to good a shape to cut up . elsewhere in the frame swap thread you can find some pics i posted of a 74 1/2 ton frame i cut and made work with a 55 i had . most say the track width is too wide but for some reason it cleared the front fenders on mine , and i had { i sold 'em to a guy here locally fella's so no i dont still have 'em !! lil known secret that i did though !! } a set of i beams i found on evil-bay that were manufactured in the 70's early 80's by i wanna say fatman , for really slammed f-150's of the era with stock suspension , that were 2 inches shorter to clear the fenders when you dropped 'em . they were tubular in construction , but i can't swear for sure if they were made by them or who ............... so ya know what i had in mind .......... and yeah i think i was gonna have to alter the spring perches etc. on the 74's front to make it all work . might have been easier to find an earlier f-150 donor after all huh ???

i`ve done the crown vic front end swap on my `55, bought a 89 low mileage crown vic for $500.00 cut and welded the front end on, nice thing is you have the whole car engine and all! keeps the costs down!! my steering column fits, used the master cylinder and booster, rear end, don`t have to move the engine mounts or anything if your bolting the car`s 5.0l into it (direct bolt in!) just one small crease in the drivers firewall, still in the middle of building it so theres probably more parts i`m going to use but i`m not quite done yet, to me this is the cheapest setup to use!! i also have some pics in my gallery of the frame swap.

Using a reverse offset wheel is not a good solution for a IFS with too wide a track width. Not only does it look goofy like a semi, but it can mess up the steering geometry enough to make it handle poorly and wear tires like crazy. There is a lot of engineering that goes into a IFS geometry design, making significant changes without understanding the consequences defeats any advantages gained over just leaving the stock suspension in place.
AFA your father's 56, you would be much better served by first replacing the damaged frame with a straight one before making any modifications, it would be difficult to really acess how far the damage actually extends, and very difficult to clip a crooked frame correctly. Replacement frames are very available and inexpensive, and easy to change.

if ya were closer i'd give ya a set of frame rails free from the 55 i'm parting out . i and my cuz are taking the crossmembers , spring mounts , shock mounts etc.. for our use and just to have spares . they arent pretty , but .... go to a thread i started called i think i went too far {? if i 'member correctly } and you can see 'em .
