Preauthorization for Turbo why so long
I have had my 07 in for a new turbo since Monday. They say they havent got the authorization yet. They say its alot of paperwork. Has anyone gone thru this dilema before and how long does it usually take? They gave me a 2008 Edge to drive but I want my truck back. Tore

What was the issue/concern with the turbo? The turbo can be cleaned under warranty with no authorization from Ford. Also, the entire center section assembly of the turbo can be replaced (Impellers, bearing, seal) without authorization from Ford. Other than a broken unison ring or a catastrophic failure of some sort occurs, the entire turbo rarely needs to be replaced. Replacing the entire turbocharger does require pre-authorization from Ford, but that shouldn't take more than an hour for your dealership to receive.
