Terry, Linda and I will be praying for your dad, he'll be fine and won't let this get him down, he's a tough old bird, he's made it through raising you so he'll get through this, tell him we said Hi, we will be praying for him and you, Garry and Linda.
Your dad will be in my prayers tonight as will your family.
Just to let yo know, my neighbor had that done at age 42 after having two pretty healthy heart attacks. He was up and about in three days, going on walks in two weeks and said he never felt better. They have really got it on the ball with these heart operations now adays. You better go buy some new walking shoes for both of you for Christmas.
Thank you guys so much. As I said, I do feel at home here or I could not have even asked such a thing in the first place. He went for the test yesterday and we didnt expect such a thing, we just thought it was routine, since he has a murmur. The thing is I had a ROUGH day all alone just looking at his empty chair and sewing machine. I'm trying to keep busy and not think about it as much as possible.
Thanks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for all the prayers, I LOVE my dad.
Terry
It was an easy decision for me.
The Heart normally pumps at around 50% capacity, when I had my tests I was about 5% capacity. This Dougie Houser Lookin kid opened me up, kept my heart beating thru the whole thing and did a double bypass. I was Home 4 days later.
3 months after my surgery I was at 45% capacity.
The reason I went thru my expierence is that I had no idea what those numbers ment - the first number I heard was 5%. That sounded real bad to me (it was), I could barely ask the Doc what these numbers were and what this ment to me.
When the Doc starts talkin numbers ASK questions, your Dad and the Family need to know what they mean.
Everyone here is in my Prayers, always - You Guys get the Extras.
Prayers for your Dad and family. It is true. Amazing things can be done nowadays. My Dad received a heart transplant from a 21 year old about a year ago and is doing very well so be optimistic.
Best wishes for your father and your family. I'll just bet you will find that after recovery he will feel much beter with more energy than before.....just like doing a valve and port job on your truck.......keep the faith
