Nope, no EFI on the 2.8. My plan right now is just to get the B2 running decent, as I believe it`s got a blown headgasket, and it for sure needs a duraspark conversion. I am looking into a howell EFI conversion but that`s gonna be a year or two down the road. Howell uses GM sensors, computors, and new throttle bodies, all built to the specs of your rig. It ain`t cheap, but I really like the idea. I do admit I`m tempted to just get a first gen sploder but I`ve already got more cash in my B2 than what it`s worth so I will just plan on forging ahead with what I`ve got..
i realy would say put a 4.0 in it. if your not pressed for time then you can find some good deals. me and travis (wich you may not know) (hell may not rember me but we met b4) anyway are going to look at an ex that needs a radiator and a windheild but its auto 4.0 4x4 runs and drives for 400. they are out there
or i have an 86 b2 id part with for cheap that needs an engine and a trans but you have a trans right? all you need is a 2.9 and your set. lol good luck
I`ve read that article many times but thanks. I`d rather buy a bolt on kit that the guesswork has been eliminated than try that. Bet it`s cheaper tho! As for an engine swap, nah. If I do a swap, it`ll be a SBF but I like the V6 mileage. plus, it`s already there and in my own opinion, the 2.8 is a better engine overall than the 2.9. No headcracking issues, more aftermarket support, and the lifters are noisy only cause they`re solids, not starving for oil like the 2.9 and 4.0.
