Hypertech Chip

I'm new to ths site and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 92 F150 with 35's and a 302 efi motor with shorty headers, airraid throttle body spacer, k/n, msd distrubuter cap, accel wires, daul exhaust. I'm looking to gain some horsepower I have been looking at the hypertech chips.Has anyone tried them and do they work?or any other tips.
Thanks

They won't do anything you can't do for free on that motor. If you don't have gears start with that because none of the stock ratios provide enough multiplication for tires that big.. think 4.56's. Get a timing light and start advancing the timing up from the base, you should be able to use 3-4deg more on regular and more still if you go up a grade, this will make a noticable improvement in pep. As your motor stands now the choke point is the camshaft, but if changing that's a little too involved for you add 1.7 rockers instead, these won't produce the same results a cam will but every little bit extra you can get the valves open the more power you'll make.
