What should I get for Christmas
Grandma and grandpa are getting me some nice long tube headers for Christmas so that's one thing down but what should I ask from myparents? I would really like a locker for my truck. What kind do you guys recomend? It can't be way to expensive. Would there be any problems with it in the future?
Thanks!
Thanks!

^^^^1000 times agreed.
No 4wd? Man I would give up the long tubes, and start collecting cans before I could upgrade anything else. I would sell the X-plode stereo, and start selling some blood or plasma before I went any further with no 4wd.
Priorities are different for many people, but you are in the Off-road forum.
Pretty sure most will agree that a truck without a functional 4wd system is nothing more than a car with a giant trunk!

Hey and you would be pretty amazed by what I can do in 2wd. All the stuff I have on it is what helps me go through tough stuff. And I know my limitations to 2wd. But when I do get stuck it's because I'm getting no power to the tire that I really need. I thought a locker would help me in the long run when I get my axle?

but is it a new rebuilt one? I would like to know where I can get a D60 for under a 1k. I had to stop at a D44 because I couldn't afford a new D60. I don't want to argue about my truck being crippled to 2x4, I know I need to fix it but I don't have much time until summer.

dude, 1800 for a d44? When I find a 60 i'm going to sell my perfectly good 44 for like a couple hundred bucks... You could buy three or four trucks with 44 fronts for that...
Is that for a brand new one? rebuilt? usually the front axle spent its life cruising with the hubs unlocked and is in pretty good shape, new wheel bearings, seals, gear lube and u joints should do ya. thats around 200 dollars in parts plus whatever you can get the axle for. Just a though for you.....

A fracture on the right side of the axle near the tire. We were coming back from an excursion and I was leading my friends out the trails, it was dark and I hit a big rock in a crevice after the dirt gave way. I didn't think it was bad until I got home. Mud and sand got into the shaft. We took it to the shop and the front gears got chewed up, luckily I found a donor truck for $200.
