Thats a tough one for me! Im way more of a truck guy, but ever since I had my stang, that was enough to make a guy second guess the whole truck thing!

Trucks are definatly more of a challenge when it comes to speed, and for the most part are more unique then a stang.

that thought gives you the creeps, you shoulda been in the car lol.nothing takes the fun out of a saturday night like watching the wrecker drag your baby and a few cord of firewood out of the drain.I was always a sucker for a 5.0 and deffinatly have to have one again for sure, but for not with a 1 year old and a wedding and new house comming up next year its just not going to be for a few years,so the truck will get as much attention as I can this winter and have some fun with ir next summer.

Ya know man, it sounds like your doing the same kinda thing what Im doing right now too.

I have my eyes on a 87 convertible mustang with a stroked out supercharged engine in it, that says it has dyno proof of 400 horse at the rear tires. The car is black with leather, basically my dream car! Well Ive hemed and hawed over it for awhile, and as much as I want it, my brain keeps telling me that I need other things instead. We are looking to build a new house, and a shop and some other crap.

Anyways what Im doing is taking what i all have, and going to make the best of it. I have an 89 ford 150 (have had it since 97 or so) that the body is getting pretty beat up on, and I bought a 91 150 lariat that has a decent body on it. So i was gonna make one good truck out of the two, and try to make it as quick and reliable as I can, with what i have, plus a few cheap kijiji, craigslist, or ebay purchases!

yes I hear you on the kijiji stuff, thats actually were I bought my 2wd,a young fella had it,and from what I understand it was given to him by his grandfather for when he got his licence, but the young fella wanted a rice burner so he sold me the truck for 1100 to pay for 6 months of insurance.what is wrong with todays youth lol.I wouldn't ever buy another rag top but there nice on a day thats not too hot to have the top down.I would like to have a 90 coupe, theres one for sale now for 1000,rust free, was a 4 cylender suto,so it shouldn't be beat and twisted.I want to build a car that mirrors will look good under.

By a coupe you mean the ones that have the trunks right?

I know alot of guys like them, because they can be made the fastest, due to the weight of them.

yes the trunk style ones, there alot more ridgide then the hatches,I'll put subframe connectors in it.big plans man,no time or money hahaha.once I get everything done and my truck working how I like it I'll get another one.I'm gathering up parts now when I come across a good deal to stach away.last summer a friend of mine found a very rusty 50,5spd coupe to do this with.I drove it home for him, very interesting drive,no brakes and alot of flex.

when I build the new house there will be a garage going up at the same time, then its major project time.the garage I have now is ok for small stuff but I don't want to get too big of a project going there.

I have taken a slightly different approch to my engine.I finally finished tearing it apart and the cylenders are in great shape, nothing a few minutes with the hone won't fix.and the fact they have forged flat top pistons already I think I won't spend the money in boring and new pistons to gain 4 cubic inches.I'm going to leave it the standard bore.I got my E303 cam and edelbrock performer intake the other day.grand total of $505 which I didn't think was too bad.but the crank I would say will have to be turned so its at the machine shop.I think I'll drop the block of too,get it tanked and some new cam bearings put in.may just let him give it a hone while he's at it.the guy at the machine shop was showing me the clevite H-series bearings when I was there the other day.
I think I'll go with them, slightly more money but he gaurantees they last longer and are better for high reving engines.
