I'm going to go out on a limb here and say none. Obviously if a mod changes the performance characteristics of the engine and something in the engine fails Ford is going to point at the mod as at fault. Then the burden of proof is on you to take them to court and try to force them to fix it.
With the current situation the big three are in now, I would venture to say that they will be looking for ANYTHING to get out of warranty work. Heck, even my mod friendly dealership has started asking if tuners have been used. They never questioned it before. Said Ford is cracking down on them.
That is a dealer to dealer issue. My thinking on my 06 was that, yeah my hometown dealer was cool with an Airaid intake, but i travel a lot and what if the dealership in XYZtown, USA isnt. Now you are in a pickle. Just talk to your dealer and find out if they will be cool with it. Look into the S&B intakes for the 6.4L, they seem to be a great product with zero complaints on the various forums I frequent
The days of great mileage with diesel engines is a thing of the past. This is in great part the doings of our beloved EPA. Accept it. If you delete the DPF you are not only voiding your warranty you are also breaking federal regulations. I bet there will be more stringent laws(via emissions inspections) enforcing this soon. Just my 2 cents.
Pertty much they have taken a stance that any performance oriented mods will void the warranty. Now worse than before the auto industry is not doing so well so be carefull in what mods you make because thier watching this very close.
hey niner9 if your decide that your not going to worry about warranty adn want good mileage and rad performance id recommend giving Spartan a call i haev the 210 so far on my truck with the trueflow intake and 4 inch exhaust with DPF delete and i will vouch its worth every cent but im not worried about the warranty its going to elite next year just a friendly tip on the performance end
I have a 08 f550 and took it in today for check engine light. Code p2002 an they said it was because of the 3' stakes on my flatbed. Dpf is still on it an said it will void my warranty.I just put them on so it would not look like all the others.
