Another Newbie-53'
Well since all the newbies are posting I might as well too....
Just brought home my Grandpa's old 53. The truck has sat outside untouched for the past 30 years. Somewhere along the line a 292 was put under it.
Surprisingly there is very little rust (none in the cab corners that I can tell) for being outside so long.
I've had it in the garage for 2 weeks and the tear down has begun-bed, front, and interior.
I plan on a 4link rear, independant front, and a big block ford engine.
As soon as I have enough time I will be sure to post some pictures.

mmm hmmm so where ya at ??? i need a few small 53 only items for mine ............... LOL !!!! welcome to the site and yep get some pics up . mine is in the avatar and gallery , and quite a few other 53 owners here as well .

Yeah the wife doesnt seem to care to much about the history lol.... out of all the uncles cousins and even my dad i'm the only one who was able to get the truck so I'm sure as heck not letting it go now.
The price was right too...$0 but I quadrupled that in storage fees over the past few years. At least its out of the weather and getting some well deserved attention now.

But cheer up, there is something in it for you purists. For every Darksider born there develops a parts source for you guys to feed on. See, every big dark cloud has a silver lining.
