4.2 in a E250?

I just picked up a 1997 E250 Cargo van, one owner and only has 77k on the ticker. It appears that the motor is a 4.2l? Would that be correct? At least that is what the drawing on the front of the fan shroud is showing. It seems pretty peppy for a little 6cy engine, but my concern is that it is underpowered for as big as the rig is? Are there any concerns I should have with this set up? Any thing to watch out for as far as routine maintenance?
BTW: It was a city owned vehicle so I know the routine maintenance was done right and well.

thanks in advance

Oh, one more question: Both the brake and the ABS light are on, but I have what seems like good functioning brakes. Could this be related to the fact that the 3rd brake light is out?

It's not a bad engine. The '97s had an issue with breaking the camshaft. I've driven a few of the trucks with the 4.2 and it is a peppy little motor. It's possible but it's more likely it's a faulty sensor in the rear end. Does the speedo work?

Yep it sure does, and that was my thought too maybe the VSS. Probably not though, what other sensor would it be?
