time for some servicing
Check all your rubber and plastic hoses for cracking. If you have a distributor cap I would check inside to make sure it isn't full of dust or has carbon cracking. Might change plug wires(if your truck has them) if they are old and cracked, use ignition grease in the boots to make it easy next time.
Don't have the manual on me but I think the wheel bearings and spindle bearings are due.
If it hasn't been done lately, you might also need O2 sensors and maybe a new or clean out the EGR.
Also crawl around under the and grab and shake anything you can get to. You will be surprised how many items are loose, like crash pans, heat shields, muffler hangers, running boards etc.
Probably time for a fuel filter, get yourself one of those filter disc tools.
If you have a drain hole, drain the torque converter when you do the tranny. Inspect for color(red) smell(chemically) particles(some pepper flakes OK, big metal chunks not OK)
I like synthetic fluids, so Mercon compatible in tranny and 70W140 in the diff. If you have 4WD I am pretty sure the front diff uses Mercon type. If the engine is in good conditions, no leaks good compression, I would just use whatever oil you have been using, it appears to work for your truck.
Good Luck,
Jim Henderson
