What's next?

I probably shouldn't post this as it is likely to jinx me, but I am having so much fun I thought I would throw it out there - plus I have 5 minutes to kill.

Just finished a boat load of work on my 01 Screw. The tranny started slipping a couple of weeks ago so I used the time around Thanksgiving to pull it and have it rebuilt. Unfortunately it was really cold pulling it and those dang torsion bars were just about welded in place. Finally got the keys off the back but never got them out of the front. I also had a front driver's side ball joint that was in two pieces - the stud had broken. Really dangerous - I think God made the tranny go out so I would finally jack it up and take a look at the ball joint (something I had been telling myself to do for about 6 weeks).

So, I changed all the ball joints and uppers and shocks. Got me some new tires and the whole thing aligned. Washed it today and cleaned out the interior.

I kind of feel like I should do something else to it. I've been working on it for about two weeks now, I'm not sure what I will do without something to tinker on. Anyone got any good projects I ought to be getting into?

Actually heading towards N. GA.... just a little side trip!

Funny thing, got in tonight after the post and the gear selector is suddenly about 1/4" off. Looks like you are in N when in R, 2 when in D. Got under it to adjust that funny clip and it is maxed out. Can't get any more from it. Just decided to be a little longer - out of the blue. Tinkered for 20 minutes, tried three different positions, looked up under the dash, can't find a way to adjust it except down at the tranny.

I knew I was jinxin myself! *^&&%^#^%

I can't really give you any suggestions.. but I'm curious as to what the tranny shop said was wrong with your tranny.

It lost 3rd gear actually and it tore up the case right at the back where the fluid pumps in to the bands and clutches. Scored it up bad and they had to sleeve it. Put in a Transgo shift kit along with the rebuild. It feels really nice now except it is a bit hard when shifting from 1st to 2nd at partial throttle. Easy throttle good, heavy throttle good, but partial the pressure is up enough that it is a bit hard.

Feels like a new truck now - love it all over again.
