Welcome to FTE proprick! It would help to know what model and year of truck you have. Usually if you are replacing the stock radio, there are wiring adapters available to allow the aftermarket radio to plug in directly without having to cut the factory wiring up. Good luck!
Definitly don't cut the ford jacks off. Get the adapter plug because if you ever switch out the radio again with another brand you will have to keep going through guessing what color ford wire goes to what spkr etc. Not to mention there are some extra hot wires in there that could short out or blow your fuse if not properly covered. Someone did this on my truck before I got it and luckily I stayed with kenwood when I changed the tape player for a newer cd/mp3 etc. player and it has the same plug, but sometimes the spkrs go in and out from the splices.
