New Ex Update
Just completed the first mileage test on the Ex, 461 miles on 23 gallons of fuel. The mileage includes the trip from St Louis by the dealer to Iowa (allegedly running 75-80 MPH), a roughly 40 minute test drive, half city, half highway, two trips to work and back and errands around town. I figure 20 mpg is pretty righteous, I couldn't get that out of my F150 downhill both ways! 
The ride is great, and the steering wander is gone after adjusting tire pressures. Three minor problems so far. The hood was factory mis-aligned and was rubbing on the cowl. Ford must have hired some ex Studebaker panel fitters! My son and I staightened that out in less than 30 mins. I found an oil leak on the bypass filter system, at the return fitting to the oil fill tube, I believe a new o-ring will solve that. Also the check engine light came on after idling for 30 minutes or so, I believe it is the same EGR code that was set prior to purchase.
