Will the stock front springs on an 86 150 allow enough room for 31in tires without rubbing?
If not how high does it need to go? Not really looking to lift it much if I can get away with it.
Also I am going to flat bed this thing. But I am in search of some light weight options. Any suggestions? Every Flat bed I have ever built has been over engineered and way to damn heavy.
Stay away from spacers. They're more trouble than they're worth. They will likely kick the alignment out so bad it won't be drivable and the shop won't be able to get it close enough to be.
I ran 31X10.50's on my 80 4x4 f150. With the stock wheels, they would rub the radius arm when I turned sharp in the parking lot. Not a big deal, you could hear it and feel it rubbing on the cleats through the steering wheel.
I then got a set of cheap chrome modular wheels 8 inches wide, and mounted the same tires on them. The were offset more and pushed the tire out farther from the truck, and they did not rub the radius arms.
I had an '80 bronco with 33x12.5's on wagon wheels...only rubbing was on the radius arm at full lock
I had an 80 bronco with 35/12.50's and no lift. The tires rubbed the radius arm and the tops of the fenders every time it hit a bump. A guy I used to work with had an 86 F-150 4x4 and ran 32/10.5 on 15x8's with minimal rubbing.
the broncos i and my buddys had would only fit 33/12.5s under them then one of my friends lifted his 6inches and put 38 i wanna and about 2weeks later it rolled down a hill lol while it was parked we went back to get a truck to pull him out came back and the bronc was on the bottom of the hill
