power steering noise
this is on an 01 f150 4x4.....last night me and my g/f got off of work and was talking to a friend in the parking lot with the truck idleing and all of a sudden the power steering started to sound like it does when you turn it all the way to one side and hold it........i turned it side to side and it didnt help anything, eventually shut it off and 5 min later started it back up and nothing....this morning i checked the fluid and its full, fired it up and the noise was back, wouldnt go off when i shut it off, so i drove it and it kept doing it until i got where i was going but the ride back home it didnt do it at all....any insight as to why it would do this.....it is cold here if that would have anything to do with it
