It is time for me to replace the factory steering stabilizer. It has over 150,000 miles on it. The real reason I need it is because I hit a rock or something and damaged it.
I would like to get a dual set up. I am looking for something that will mount higher than the stock stabilizer.
I have the Donahoe Racing dual steering stabilizer kit on my truck. This is the same design as Icon. It's much better than stock. Actually, any aftermarket kits will be an improvement than the stock.
...Any one have personal experiences with they would like to share about their dual Icon set up or another brand?
Just put Skyjacker 7254 duals on and I like 'em. They eliminated the slight shimmy that was present with the stock single. Also, the stock single was in relatively good shape when I took it off. The duals made a difference even over a stock single in good shape.
I haven't bounced around off-road with them yet so I can only tell you about on poor, N.Y. State highways.
As you can see, height/clearance is not a problem. They're higher than the tie rods. Hope this helps,
the high clearance will be my highest priority. the skyjacker looks to be the best in that category. thanks to those who responded. that has helped me alot
