Question Frame measurement ???

Hey everyone, I am in the process of putting a mustang II front end in my 53. Bought it from Heidts and the crossmember seems to have about a 1/2" of play on BOTH sides when held in place. I know this is to much, so before I call I wanted to know some measurments from people. I searched the site and only seem to find that the width of the frame is 34" outside to outside which is what mine is. I am wanting to know inside to inside, my shop is about an hour away so this seemed easier. Thanks alot ahead of time.

Sounds about right for the hi-dollar after market stuff... Hi price, lousy fit... Can you tell if anyone has cut away any of the steel on the inside sides?

Later Man...

The frame seems untouched.

Both, they should be close to the same? I think. Basically on the centerline of the axle, please. (The directions say 19 1/2" back from the center of the front leaf spring hole(big one)).
Thanks

I've got 29.75 inches between the rails on the 55, the rails themselves are about 2 3/16 I'm seeing a few members have taken up the difference with an additional plate, must be "stacking of unfavorable tolerances" ....??? Good Luck!

Make sure you only tack in place, put fenders back on o make sure wheels are centered in opening.I used their measurement and have to cut my tavk welds to move back about 1/4'' to set perfectly.
