Regearing an 450

So you guys that have regeared your trucks,

What's your new mileage, and if you don't mind me asking,

What does it cost to regear one of our trucks?

I don't have an answer but wanted to piggy back onto the question. I have an 08 250 CC 6.4, that came with 3.55 gears. It has been explained on this forum that because the truck gets used mostly for short trips the gearing may actually hurt my MPG. I tow a9000 travel trailer in the summer on long camping trips but other than that it is all city mileage. I was wondering if it would make sense to change to the 3.73 or even a lower gearing like 4.10. Also what might that cost.

I have just got done regearing my F450 from 4.88 to 3.73, emty I was getting 10, now I'm getting 15. If you regear to anything other than 4.88 or 4.30 you will have to do something for the speedo pickup. I mounted A spocker to the back of the transfer case out put and made A bracket for speedo pickup tp read off of spocket.

Great job F250! Very creative on the speedo pickup.
