So I'm talking myself into a lift kit, thinking about the Fabtech
5"1/2 or the Skyjacker 6". Like I said in another post, I have the leveling kit with 35s now and just dont want to waste the money on a 4" if I have to take out 2" to get to 4". I would like to get the most bang for the buck with out laying up the truck because of needing "extras" once the kit is installed.
My main question is : For a 6" lift, do you have to do anything to your drive shafts? or anything else that "isn't included in the kit"
I have no problems chaging out the brake lines ,just really dont want to get into much of anything else.
i would go with the 6" skyjacker, you might not have to get new drive shafts, i didnt get new ones and i am fine, when i get my new t case im going to need a new one though so i think when i get that done im going to get a bigger one, but untill then im gonna wheel my truck as hard as ever.
I currently have a Fabtech 8" kit in my 99. Installed new stainless brake lines, and the front driveshaft had to be legthened about 1 and a half inches. 130 bucks from Accubuilt, a local company that builds and balances driveshafts. I did have to trim the front fender liners when I installed the dual shock setup. But that's was all that was required. Hope this helps you out.
