check engine
Hi my wife drives a 98 exp ,for some reason the check engine light comes on when she fills up with gas It only happens when she fills up all the way she said if she only puts in say half a tank it doesn,t come on? I know this has to be some kinda silly emissions thing but what can I do to get this to stop.

First thing I'd do is have someone (AutoZone?) pull the codes to see specifically what the PCM has detected. (Be sure and write the codes down as they have a way of becoming muddled over time

Thanks that was my plan just figured maybe someone had run into this problem and had an easy fix or something I could check myself like a gas cap not sealing or something similar.
