Possibly flooded
The saga continues. Put the intake upper/lower back on and plugged everything back together. Went to start it and nothing, not even any backfiring. So found TDC of number 1 cylinder and check the rotor position and it was almost 180 degrees out, think someone messed with the distributor when it was sitting on the bench overnight. Re-position the dist so the rotor was pointing to number 1 wire and tried starting again, still nothing but smelling alot of gas. I am hoping the cylinders were flooded real good and that's why it won't start. I've pulled the plugs and am leaving them out for an hour or so to let the cylinder air dry. Any other ideas why it wont start. Oh, i've checked and I'm getting spark and definitely getting gas. Can I try starting with the pedal all the way to the floor when its flooded like on a carburated engine when it floods?
