A stock y-block fuelpump should give 3,5-5,5 psi and about 1 pints in 30 sec.
This is about 15 gallons/hour.
You can drive one hour at about 130 mph i think.
So my question is; why use electric pumps for street or strip.
And why using a fuel regulator on tripower setup, because stock engine with one holley 94 doesn't need it.
In my case a mechanical pump doesnt fit. However your point(s) are well taken. The Holley and Carter pumps have a greater output than most of us need. I have a Carter with something like 70 gph. It will likely be replaced with one of the more inexpensive electric pumps available everywhere, with output of around 35 gph.
The current Carter doesnt have a pressure regulator inline. One nice thing about the electrics is the ease of draining fuel tank.
