I am thinking about buying a set of Super Swamper TSL radials, and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. I know several people running TSL bias tires, but have never talked to anyone that has run the TSL radial. Was wondering how they handle, how much road noise, how they wear, and if they are easy to balance.:-X11 Thanks!
my friend runs 36" tsl radials, i dont really like them, my bias ply have a much bigger tread and perform a lot better off road. but the radials are a little more quiet on the road but you can still hear them over his 350HO (yes 350, its a K5) that puts out 333hp and over the 40 sereis flowmaster muffler. they do have a sidewall though, thats somethin that the TSLs dont have.
I've ran both bias-ply and radial TSL Swampers (38.5") on my 87 Ranger. Radials were not available when I bought the bias plys but I sure wish they were. The bias-plys (granted, this is when Swampers first came out) were brutal to try and balance. One tire was 5 pounds out... yes, 5 pounds.
The radials, on the other hand, were a dream in comparison. Where the bias' would take a good 5 minutes to warm up and 'get round', the radials never developed flat spots from sitting overnight or such.
Personally, I would never buy another bias ply tire if at all possible. That's just my two copper.
i run em and am happy with them.... as pointed out, none of the bias ply problems... plus they should last longer!
i just wish they'd make them in 40" and 42" sizes since that will be the size i go to when i need new tires... may be they will have them at the end of next year??
