Frame Beam

Have a 2000 F-150 that has a vibration at 40-50mph that is not in the steering wheel. Goes away 50mph and up. Have always had GM products and frame beam seems to be an issue with alot of trucks. Its worse now that I have put weight in the back for the winter(2wd). Moving weight around seems to help a little bit. What do you Ford guys think? Thanks!

A problem I had with my truck, although not likely to be it is mud packed behind the rims, just take your wheels off and scrape it off, other than that I don't know what to tell you. Possibly a U-Joint, I'm no expert just throwing stuff on here.

I was also leaning toward a wheel balance problem as the cause of the vibration.

New set of tires and rims last month for winter. It was doing it with the old set of original tires also. Weight in back decreases it.

Driveshaft out of ballance? Check for dents, or missing weights.

Wheel-weight fall off?

Check for slack in the U-joints?

Bad shocks?

Check to see if tranny mounts are loose...
