hey guys, i have a 90 f150 reg cab long box i am 4x4 converting.
it has a 302 with the E4OD tranny.
i have a guy offering me a 90 f150 with the i6 and m5r2 5 speed with a BW1356 transfercase(correct?) anyways can i bolt the 5 speed up to my 302? i heard the bellhousings are different. does this tranny have the removeable bellhousing or cast?
does anyone make an adapter?
also, whats the wire going down to my rear diff? i am taking the axles out of my 79 bronco(D44/9") and was wondering if its okay if i just unplug it?
The I6 and 302 share the same bellhousing bolt pattern so the Mazda tranny will bolt right up. You need a 302 specific flywheel however, it will have a 50oz balance weight, the I6 flywheel has no weight at all and will produce a bad vibration if you install it on the 302. The rear axle wiring is for RABS so it's not critical you keep it as long as there is a VSS or speedo drive cable port on the Mazda tranny or transfer case. I'm pretty sure your speedo is cable driven, it woud be a good idea to check.
just to clear things up, the sstock flywheel is 21 lbs, 157 tooth and a 50oz external weight?
should i go with a stock(or OEM replacement) or aftermarket
yes, cable driven.
so its it okay just to uplug it and tie it up into the frame and not worry about it?
Exactly, don`t worry about. Obviously your RABS will not work (not much good anyway) and you may have the ABS light on in the dash.
As for the flywheel Conanski is the expert there.

Stock OEM is fine aftermarket is better McLeod and Centerforce sell some great steal (as opossed to iron stock) flywheels, they crack a lot less.
