I used to get 18-19 MPG empty & 15-16 pulling a horse trailerl. This summer these figures droped to 15-16 & 10-11. I checked my records & noticed these changes came after the stealer replaced the cam position switch under warranty. Is this a coincidence or can the CPS cause a drop in MPG's? Has anyone else noticed a drop in millage after changing the CPS?
There has been a small drop in mileage noted by some with the new CPS. It will also tend to make your truck idle a little rough. Many of us run the black CPS from International to avoid the issues with Ford's new one.
How long ago did you get the better numbers? The new ULSD will give you worse mileage, and if they are selling winter fuel where you're at, that will give you a drop also.
Thanks Chris! I thought I remember reading on here that this CPS was basically the one for the OBS Power Strokes - has anyone done a part# comparison to see if that's true?

The one Jody sells is the part number for the OBS trucks. That's what I'm running in mine, and my rotational velocity numbers came down and the truck smoothed out. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-cps-test.html
I asked Jody about the difference between the OBS part & newer one. He said he's tested both of them in his truck and cannot find a difference in readings or how the truck runs between the two.
