I bought new wheels for my 35-inch tires, now before I get tires and wheels mounted, I was wondering if I should put a clear coat on the wheels.
They are American eagle 589's, which are aluminum.
I’ve heard of people clear coating them, but I’m not sure if I should do this on theses wheels. What are the benefits of doing it?
Would it hurt the wheels?
I would like to do this tonight cause I’m getting them mounted tomorrow. What kind of clear coat should I use?
Any opinion appreciated!
There is a special type of clear coating made for aluminum, they use it on polished manifolds. I can't think of the name of hand.
Regluar clear coat will just flake and peel of the bare metal.
