Looking for some help on good quality shocks. I have a '93 F150 EC SB. It is 2WD and has the towing package. It seems to have heavier duty springs. I am looking for some good shocks to replace my current ones. I would like them to be a heavier duty shock for towing requirements. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I suggest a pair of air shock. I have them on both my 88 E-150 and 89 F-150 4x4. They are fully adjustable for loaded and loaded conditions. The only other ones that i could reccomend would be coil overs, but ive only seen them on sports cars (mustangs, t-birds, etc.)

Well buddy, let me warn you. The last owner of my truck ws an idiot, he bought the wrong shocks for the truck. He bought those coil overs, and you could literally drop an elephant in the back, and it wouldn't budge. I call him an idiot, because he never used the truck for towing, it didn't even come with a ball, and the bumper wasn't marred. So unless you want it to be very stiff, and if you haul alot then go with the coil overs. I replaced those old shocks with Gabriel shocks, and they're a little too soft for my taste, but I don't tow, which means a good ride. It also lowered the rearend of my truck, so it looks like a hotrod, with the tires I have one it.
Just another opinion....

im buying 4 ranch RS9000's next week. they are $70 each but if you buy them now, you get the 4th free. I have a 81 f-150 with a 4" lift. the best part of the 9000's is they have a adjustment for ride control. Not the crappy self adjusting, a actual *** on each of the shocks to adjust the stiffness. THere is no way i would usualy pay $280 for shocks but if i can now save $70 on the best (pratical) shocks around. Im gona do it. Plus mine are too short(made for the old 2.5" lift)
I installed the RS9000 s today. Light and day difference between heckelthorns with 5000 miles. I love them! very very smooth an soft yet very stiff when wheeling
