Please HELP Electrical gremlins 06 explorer

Hi
I just bought an 06 5.4 loaded explorer , as part of the deal the dealer was to install a Auto start. I bought this unit in Sept of this year got to drive it for 2 weeks then it went in for the auto start. In total they have had it 4-5weeks and it goes back in Monday. It seemed on the first try it started once then that was it nothing, I was told it was the wrong remote system, next they redid it same problem starts once then nothing, so far they have replaced 7 moduels ,2 intrument clusters, 3auto starts and a few things I don't know about yet as they haven't printed of a copy for me.

Only problem I had befor this was that when you locked the doors by the handle lock they would pop back open after a min or so. Locked just fine with the remote.

Now it will lock/ unlock with the old remote, but won't unlock with the auto remote just beeps the horn. Back up sensor shows red and the engine wont start, nothing no clicks just dead. Heater controls go from 16 C to 19 C nothing in between dash lights flicker, and the doors unlocking was still the same but seem to stay locked now for some reason . Thinking I got a real lemon any ideas would be gratefully apperciated. But the Auto start does work at least.
Thanks Lil

Seems the trouble started when they installed the "Auto start", some one goofed!.

I would have them restore the truck to its original state (working).

Tell them to take that "auto start" off and start over. Thats rediculous that it acts up after you had it worked on. If you must have the auto start i would try another shop!

The only help I can give you...

...is to tell them to take out everything they put in and put it back to stock. The wiring in newer cars is complex enough that you *just don't need* it to be further messed up by some hack job done by an idiot. Even if they get it working "right", there is always that chance that your Explorer will not start at the worst time possible--say in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, and someone is on the verge of delivering a baby. (Murphy's Law)

Have them refund the value of the auto start, and ask for compensation for your trouble as well.

George
