D44 hub question

I have a 1995 F150 with manual hubs. I just bought Warn Premium Hubs (PN 20990) to replace my old hubs. Warn says that if you have auto hubs with 3 screws, you need to replace the spindle with their conversion kit. I have manual hubs, but they have 3 screws in the caps. Is this normal? All other stock manual hubs that I have seen have 5 or 6 screws.

I gotta say with your already having manual lockouts you have the right wheel bearing retainers needed to use with the new lockouts you have.

Take one off and look, you should have a round wheel bearing retainer with 4 notches in it, if so your good to go.
see here,
Dana 44 Wheel Bearing Nut Kit 1967 - 1995
Picture for example only, do not endorse supplier.

If you have the "rounded" 2-3/4" hex nut type wheel bearing retainer with the little wedge you need the extra kit.

Couldn't find a picture of that one but you get the idea.

I tried to find a picture of both type retainers in the Sponsors listed to the board but can not ever find much of anything I'm looking for in their pages. Almost always get "There are no items in the current category!". Or takes me to everything but what I'm looking for.

Does the auto hub bearing retainer look like this?

Yea, I'm afraid you're going to need the kit.

You may want to price the parts separate, I know my local napa has em hanging on the rack. Might be priced a little better that way not being packaged and sold as a "conversion kit", just as a simple replacement part.

Nope scratch that part, built more like little bronco 2 hubs, your going to need the kit I'd say.

Yeah, I found the picture on a Ranger forum. My truck has the 4 notch nut. I was posting that for comparison's sake. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm glad I don't have to get anything else (for now LOL). My wife is getting tired of me spending money on my truck. Good thing she doesn't know the plans I have in my head

LOL! yea ya kinda through me with that picture, I haven't owned/worked on a f 150 in years, my work calls for a heaver truck. Seen that thought maybe they made it lighter yet in that area.

Their continued attempts to make every thing cheap/er over the years usually tends to make for some changes I really don't care for. Glad to hear they left it alone, or basically the same, at least for the most part.
