Problems with my 2003 continue
My truck makes a funny noise, a whining noise, after I am off road, going slow over bumps that cause the truck to lean and twist. It will also whine after I am hard on the throttle.
It will continue to make the noise (under the hood I think) for a few minutes, then goes away. It has been getting more frequent.
The best way to describe it is the power steering sound you get when you turn all the way to the stop/lock. Or like a turbo noise or like radio interference with non-resistor plugs.

did you scan the ecm for any codes? that is a good place to start.
what are your air, oil, fuel filter change intervals?
does the sound seem like its comming from the turbo?
when did you change the power steering fluid last?
any diesel exhaust smell in the cab, any leaks near the turbine outlet/up-pipes?
does it sound like it is comming from the tranny? when did you change this last?
if its under the hood, it probably will not be the fuel pump under your seat, sometimes
when these go bad they make a whining noise, my friends went bad on his 06 and the thing just started whining really high and eventually just died
