I just purchased a 1995 F250 2WD Gas 5.8L Super Cab. I haved looked through the little Owners manaul and cn not find what the normal tire pressure should be. The tires have the maximum load at 80 psi, but nothing about normal unloaded pressure.
The stock tires are suppose to be 215/85/16, but the tire on the truck are 245/75/16 with a class E loading.
So what should the normal unloaded tire pressure be?
What should the tire presure be when pulling a car hauler with a total weigth of about 7000 lb? The hitch should have about 700+ lb on it based on the 10% rule.
I dunno if this will help, but I have a 96 f-150 2x4 and it weighs somewhere between 3900 and 4000 pounds. I run my tires at 35psi. Maybe you can calculate something from this?? Hope it helps some.
Try them at 60. If the steering feels soggy increase the pressure, if it feels very rough over bumps decrease the pressure. I wouldn't go below 40. If when towing you notice the rear tires setting down more than normal air them up higher.
