I have a 1990 F150 4x4 Supercab. I want to put a 4" Lift Kit under it. Well the truck doesn't sit level. Will a lift kit correct this problem if I get a kit with new rear springs. What do you suggest?
The normal lift kit itself won't correct it, but its an easy fix if you do get a lift kit, you just need some extra parts or a different part. You should be able to order theses parts when you order your kit. Depending if the front or rear is higher or lower, this is what you need to do.
Front:
If your front doesn't sit as high, you can get an additional leafs to add hight, or have the shop remove leafs to lower the hight.
Rear:
If your rear doesn't sit as high or is too high, just order a different size block or additional leafs or remove leafs.
Example... I have a 2001 SD with an 8" Fabtech kit and 3" Hanger kit. The 8" Fabtech suspension kit came with 8" of lift by springs in the front, and 5" springs in the rear. Since the stock truck already has a 3" block in the rear, the front and rear would both have 8" of lift. But, since the front got an additional 3" of lift from the hanger kit, the back now would sit 3" lower. So, all the shop did was ordered an additional 3" block. Now the front had 11" (8" leaf kit and 3" hanger kit) and the rear had 11" (5" leaf kit and two 3" blocks). Hope this helps.
I don't know what he was talking about but it is very simple. There is a lot of information already on here for lift kits on your kind of truck. Get a 4" system from skyjacker, about 700 bucks wiht new shocks, gonna need brake lines front and rear too. You can make the kit anyway you want. Get blocks for the rear, and it will sit level. Get an add-a-leaf and it will sit level. Get blocks and an add-a-leaf, and it will be about 2 inches higher depending on the combination you choose.
Primary rig is:
95' F-150 EB 300/6 5 spd with 4" Superlift, MSD, Ram Air, Gibson Exhaust, 32" BFG Muds
NEW PICS IN MY GALLERY!! :-)
Then theres:
88' F-250 Superduty 351 + c6
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 and a
3 spd column shifter baby. Top speed, 65mph, Go Baby Go!
The newest addition to the Ford family is a 99' Mustang GT 4.6L
Ford is known to sit lower in the front, thats how mine ended up after my lift, im not sure if this would work at all but you could try and get longer coils so when they settle out it will be level, my truck was level till the coils settled out.
