Since the hoiday is around the corner I am looking to improve the Ex. I have asked santa for a few things, but the internet has not been so nice on having holiday pricing. Does anything ever go on sale or what. Not trying to be a cheap @%#, but would like to get a good deal once in a while.
Nope, after looking around and seeing the obvious I will have to hold on to my ex forever. The plus is that Diesel in michigan is now at 2.69. Almost time for a trip to alabama.
The brush gaurd is on the list but not at the top. I will doing the cross over line, the regulated fuel return also. I have started the LED lighting though.
Now a little side question. The dashboard lighting. Is it the bulbs that make it the green color at night or is it the back plate that glows green at night. I would like to replace the bulbs so that they match my gauges (blue).
The actual printed board is whats making it green, the bulbs are 194 or 194 equivalents (other candle power, but same shape/size/clear). I used to swap my bulbs for brighter 194 style bulbs and was quite happy. Others state they dont like a brighter dashboard though, so its up to the end user.
Aftermarket has replacement gauge clusters by the dozens from what I have seen. Be careful pulling/replacing teh needles if you have to though, dont let them get misaligned. The bulb swap is pretty easy, you pull the dash cluster and swap bulbs and replace the cluster. Havent done it on the excursion yet, but it looks as straight forward as any otehr ford I have ever worked on.
