5.4 plug blow out

Is the 2004 F250 subject to the plug blow out problem?

dont think so.. by then the heads were upgraded to longer threads..

i believe late 2002 was the last of that issue..

I would have to say most of you guys have been pretty lucky mine cost me an insert plug coil, and new fuel rail bracket. blew the #8 plug and when it hit the fuel rail it shattered the coil.

spark plug torque

According to my Haynes Shop Manual, on the 2002 4.6L V8 it is 14 ft/lbs or 168 in/lbs. Does not show the 5.4L.

3v 5.4L spark plug removal/install & torque specs

According to the TSB, it is 25 ft/lbs for the 3v version. Of course, the 2002 would be a 2v motor and I dont see any info on that.
