351 to 400

is there more to making a 351m a 400m than just the crank?

Crank and pistons, rods are the same.

true and false, theres stuff you MUST change also, like rod bolts and the two piece exaust valves if you wanna have a durable engine.....but yup pistons an crank are the main diferences...

Ive been surfing the web about somethig i heard about stock 335 series engines having 2 piece valves, and it being a weak point also on 351cs and 400s, they say exaust valves are the ones taht fail, ive seen pictures of broken cylinder walls due to the separation of one of them, check it out, Kelly hotrod - wreck of the ol' 351C

i gave a friend a block that i was told to be a 400. it was only a 351. he had it machined heads rebuilt new pistons crank the whole 9 yards. now he wants me to buy it back because he bought a cummins to put trying to decide what to do. my 400 is getting weak and was really want to stick with the bigger motor.
