i went to start my truck tonight turned the key all i got was DUNK not a click. a dunk
traced it down the the solenoid switch on the started. took the flashlight and smacked the solenoid on the starter not the starter itself and it worked..
now to replace the solenoid on the starter. is it a hard thing to do?
i found the part its acdelco F917. are they universal for any starter. i dont know if its the stock starter or not.
I have rebuilt a few starters and they are pretty easy to do(have not done one on these trucks though)......if they are like the others I have rebuilt,it will take longer to pull and reinstall then to rebuild it
Did you check the solenoid on the fenderwell and all the connections to it and the starter solenoid.
Cross out the two big posts on the fenderwell solenoid, if the starter rolls over you found your problem.
Also check to see if the starter is loose..wouldn't be the first time
